I’m not one to write about national/world events; with a background as a gardening columnist I don’t feel qualified to write about much else.
But I felt compelled to say a few words about what happened recently in a relatively small town located less than 45 minutes from where I live.
Violence. Uncalled for, and to be blunt, just plain crazy and inexplicable - the attemped assassination of a former president of the United States. It doesn’t matter what political party you are associated with, there is no humane reasoning that would ever explain such behavior. As a matter of fact, I think it’s inhumane!
I condemn all such acts of violence, and although I am sometimes outspoken with my political beliefs as in Independent voter, I am adamantly against all acts of inhumane violence toward every living thing on this Tiny Blue Dot.
I’m not sure if what I’ve said here matters to anyone. But it matters to me that everyone who reads this understands where I stand. And I stand for peace, love, and the common good for all men, women, and those who identify as LGBTQIA+.
They say anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks. I’m just over 2 weeks from developing shingles and let me tell ya….it ain’t no fun! But I’m not complaining, it’s a relatively mild case. Still though, the aggravation caused by what I think feels like a sunburn is not at all pleasant. I was on medication for 7 days and it has helped and the rash doesn’t look near as bad as what I’ve seen it could be. It’s clearing up, so that’s good.
There’s one chore that needs done and it requires me to lay on my back - spraying off the underside of my 54” zero turn mower. Which wasn’t much of a problem until, well, what I mentioned above.
I have a wedding to photograph Friday and I am not going to let this condition deter me from making it the best experience for the couple. Although I don’t do many I enjoy wedding photography. It’s a lot of work yes, but also a lot of fun. You see, I’m a people person, and I love talking to folks, sometimes forcing myself to let whoever it is I’m talking with, respond without me interrupting them.
I also should apologize for this late blog post. But you know the reason.
Peace.
I’m recovering from shingles. And all the yucky and uncomfortable things I’ve heard about this affliction has certainly proved to be true.
And this is my excuse for not uploading a blog post until now.
Thankfully, the worst is over and I’ll have better news for my next blog post on 7/7 so stay tuned!
